Parent of three, advocate for many.
Parents, Students, Teachers - Let me be your voice!
I am the spouse of a military veteran and hardworking mother of 3 teenagers. I possess a Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice from ASU and am currently a licensed Private Investigator. I also attend TCC in hopes to one day obtain a paralegal certification. Previously, I have been employed as an Immigration Special Agent and a BATFE Inspector. These jobs necessitated a strong focus on compliance and enforcement of the law.
Two of my children have disabilities, one with Type One Diabetes and the other with Crohn's Disease and a head injury which was the result from an assault that occurred at school. Their medical issues required them both to obtain special accommodations in public schools through 504 plans and an IEP. I had to become a fierce advocate for my children when it came to ensuring that their medical rights and needs were being legally met and complied with. I now want to be that fierce advocate for Chesapeake families; listening to diverse groups of individuals, seeking positive solutions, becoming more proactive and less reactive, and accomplishing desirable results.
I have decided enough is enough when it comes to the rights of parents and children in the school system. I know Chesapeake Public Schools has some absolutely wonderful programs, such as the JROTC program which my son is a part of. But I know that there are problem areas that are being ignored. I'm confident we can do better at addressing these issues and making parents, students, and staff feel as if they are being heard. I'm also no stranger to speaking at school board meetings.
If you want consistency, accountability, and transparency in the school district and also with your elected officials, please support me in this most important race to protect our children, your parental rights, and public education!
